Meet Sky Rama

Born and raised on Maui, Hawaii, Sky Rama has spent his entire life connected to the ocean. From his earliest memories of paddling into shore break as a kid to competing internationally as a professional surfer, the water has always been home.

After years of chasing swells across the Pacific, Sky relocated to Southeast Asia where he discovered a world of untapped surf potential. Over the past 15+ years, he has mapped more than 200 hidden breaks across Bali, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, and beyond — building an intimate knowledge of the region's waves, tides, and seasonal patterns that few surfers possess.

Sky is a pioneer in hybrid foil-assist surfing, a technique that combines traditional surfing with hydrofoil technology to ride waves in ways previously impossible. His expertise spans foil surfing, tow surfing, kite surfing, and traditional board surfing — making him one of the most versatile water athletes in the sport.

But for Sky, surfing has never been just about performance. It's about the flow state — that feeling of being perfectly in sync with the ocean. Through Fly With Sky, he shares this philosophy through immersive surf camp retreats and 1-on-1 coaching, helping surfers of all levels deepen their connection to the water and unlock their potential.

When he's not in the water, Sky is exploring new coastlines, working on his breathing and movement practice, or planning the next adventure for the Fly With Sky community. He currently splits his time between Bali and wherever the best swell is running.
